United Voice for Responsible Business (UVRB) Supporter Commitment

I believe that the business sector, and very specifically, the people working within this community, have a responsibility towards people and the planet as well as making an ethical profit.

As a United Voice for Responsible Business Supporter, I will actively promote responsible business within my organisation and make a personal commitment, within my sphere of influence, to help make it commonplace by 2030. I will challenge irresponsible behaviour and decision-making when I see it and I will urge my colleagues and connections to do likewise.

As a United Voice for Responsible Business Supporter, I agree, to the best of my ability and within my sphere of influence, to adhere to the following:

With regards to People

I will endeavour to ensure a great workplace culture where all decisions and behaviours are based on the Company’s Values and Code of Ethics, a workplace where all our people enjoy their work, are fairly paid, engaged, well-trained, physically and psychologically safe, have equal opportunities and enjoy a great life balance.
I will help build the company’s social purpose – how the company can make the world a better place.
I will not undertake, nor ask a colleague to undertake, any illegal or unethical behaviour.

With regards to the Planet

I will consider the ethical implications, as well as legal, of all my decisions and work practices which have an environmental impact.
I will work with colleagues and other key stakeholders to develop and improve our Company’s positive contribution to the environment.
I will play my part in ensuring and maintaining environmental management, measurement and reporting systems that provide the framework needed to embed environmental considerations into our culture.

With regards to our corporate aims and objectives

I will play my part, within my sphere of influence, in meeting my Company’s financial aims and objectives via an ethical, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable business strategy.
I believe the concept of ETHICAL profit is fundamental to the long-term sustainability of the business.
